Grant Writing

Background: Grants Works was hired by Louisiana Tech Applied Research Corporation (LTARC) to prepare an application to the National Science Foundation. We provided grant writing service, prepared, reviewed and/or edited 15 partners’ budgets and all forms, kept all stakeholders abreast of the project, and provided full project management.
Client win: LTARC successfully submitted a competitive $15 million grant application to NSF before deadline.
Client feedback: Grants Works provided us valuable support for pulling together a proposal that involved 30+ individuals spread over 15 entities, and required a large number of items to be prepared in very specific formats. They did all this in the space of less than 10 weeks with Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in between. We could not have managed it without their help.

Grant Management

Background: Grants Works was hired by Maine Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs to manage its grant and subawardees.
Client win: The client’s ability to meet performance objectives, deadlines, and remain good financial stewards of this state-administered federal grant resulted in year 2 and year 3 funding. Grants Works provides full-service grant management including subrecipient awarding and monitoring, site visits, monthly technical assistance sessions, and more.
Client feedback: When the Maine Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs was awarded a 5 year contract through the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, we were in need of a detailed grant manager to help with overall grant management of a TANF grant. Patrice and her team have integrated their organization seamlessly with the Maine Alliance and have done a great job. Grants Works helped the Maine Alliance set up reporting structures and systems that did not previously exist to accurately track the impact our award is having at the local level. Additionally, Grants Works oversaw all grant reporting and communication with the DHHS program manager to ensure deliverables are being met in a timely manner. The Grants Works team developed clear communication processes between the Maine Alliance, member organizations and DHHS to ensure that information was being shared and understood by all stakeholders. Without Grants Works, the Maine Alliance would have struggled with developing the infrastructure and managing the day-to-day needs of the overall grant program.
