What Our Clients Say
We’ve Worked With:
COMPANY OVERVIEW
STAFFED BY PRE- AND POST-AWARD SPECIALISTS
Our team has 80 combined years of experience and we have obtained and managed over $300 million in federal grants as a recipient, subrecipient and pass-through entity.
Our expertise is enhanced by our founder who is a former federal employee who reviewed research grant continuation applications, supported application panel reviews, coordinated grantee site visits, and served as a point of contact for prospective Small Business Innovation Research grant applicants.
We have also helped our clients identify and obtain millions in private sector grants.
CERTIFIED FEDERAL GRANT MANAGEMENT TRAINING
We develop and deliver federal grant management training. In addition to customized training solutions, we provide certified, in-person, online, and self-directed training options.
Our primarily training program, Federal GrantIQ Training Series, is a three-module training that covers core federal grant regulations, organizational responsibilities under 2 CFR 200, documentation standards, and practical steps to reduce compliance risk.
It is modeled on a training program we developed for a federal agency that is rated 4.7 out of 5 stars by over 973 participants.
What participants will learn:
- A comprehensive overview of core federal grant regulations and how they apply to your organization.
- Understanding of organizational responsibilities under 2 CFR 200, including cost allowability, financial management, procurement, and subrecipient monitoring.
- Clarity around documentation requirements and stewardship expectations.
- Practical steps to reduce compliance risk and protect funding eligibility.
Grants Works’ training is certified by the National Association for the State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI), and Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).

CASE STUDIES
CAST STUDY 1
I am so appreciative of the Grants Works consultants’ expertise in helping us get much of our grants management policies and processes in place. We are in a much stronger position to manage our first large federal grant and hopefully are much better prepared to apply for more.
Roberta Rincon, Society of Women Engineers
CASE STUDY 2
II wanted to take a moment to share how well the meeting with Patrese and Kimberly went. They did a fantastic job walking me through all the key aspects. I learned a great deal, and I am extremely grateful for their guidance and thorough explanations. Their expertise was invaluable, and I feel much more confident in my understanding.
Haley Jones, City of Eureka
CASE STUDY 3
Background: Grants Works was hired by Xilis, a medtech company that is developing next generation technologies, to manage its Small Business Innovation Research Phase I award.
Client win: Xilis was able to implement a systems-based grant management approach into its operations, ensured its subaward with a well-known university was compliant, and other key actions were taken to ensure readiness for a Phase II award.
Client feedback: Patrice was very professional and knowledgeable. She provided the action plan and held the team accountable for meeting the deadlines. She was very helpful answering questions, walking us through the grant process and requirements, offering additional trainings, providing reference materials and sample policies.
Larissa Korniychuk, Xilis
